Crowdsourcing

Crowdsourcing is the process of getting information regarding a particular product, object, idea, or project from a large group of distributed participants through online surveys and social media platforms. The term was coined in 2006 by Jeff Howe in his article ‘The Rise of Crowdsourcing’ in Wired magazine. Crowdsourcing can be paid or unpaid and executed by an individual or an organization.
